Upriver lodge Prichard, Idaho
Erika and Jeff invited me to photograph their wedding out in my neighboring state, Idaho. I had never been to the Upriver Lodge before, but I felt right at home. Its rustic charm and proximity to the river reminded me of growing up around Mt Baker. The kind of place where you can order a beer and eat a burger next to a life-sized chainsaw-carved Sasquatch sculpture while John Mellencamp plays on a Jukebox that's older than my father.
Erika & Jeff picked a fantastic venue, but their guests are what really brought everything together. One of my favorite wedding things is the history between family and friends. You can see just how much love and excitement there is for. It's moving and worth cherishing.
As a wedding photographer based in Central Washington, I’m always drawn to celebrations like this—where the landscape and the people feel equally meaningful. Whether I’m documenting weddings in Wenatchee, Ellensburg, or across the Pacific Northwest, it’s these genuine, unscripted moments that tell the real story. Erika and Jeff’s day was full of that kind of authenticity, the kind that doesn’t need direction, just attention.
There’s something special about traveling for weddings, too. It gives me a fresh perspective while still bringing the same approach I use for every Central Washington wedding I photograph: a focus on connection, natural light, and storytelling. From the quiet moments by the river to the laughter echoing through the lodge, every part of their day felt effortless and true to who they are."
