This wedding kicked off my 2019 season in pure over-the-top castle fashion. My couple choose the impressive Thornewood Castle in Lakewood, WA for their wedding venue. Thornewood Castle is a 500 year old Tudor Gothic castle located just south of Tacoma, WA. Built by Tacoma Port founder Chester Thorne in 1907, this castle was designed to stand the test of time. Thronewood was built on a solid three foot thick foundation with exteriors of imported brick from Whales, concrete and reinforced steel. Even the floors are ten inches of solid concrete!
My couple choose an 8 hour wedding package, which gave me plenty of time to grab those can’t miss details we all love so much.
One thing that really makes this wedding special for me was that this marked the first use of my vintage glass collection. I’ve recently fallen in love with the 1960s-70s area SMC Takumar Lenses. Getting to use these gems was both exciting and nerve racking since they are manual focus only.
Maneesha & Brandon were great to work. They were young and in love with tons of ideas and were always up for more images. I wish them both the best with a life long journey full of happiness and family.
