As I drove over to Seattle, via Hwy 90, I was assaulted with rain the entire trip. I was a bit worried this wedding was going to get rained out but thankfully we only saw a few sprinkles during this intimate island wedding.
It’s always such a joy to travel for weddings and the West-Side of this beautiful state of ours is beyond comparison. I had to travel through Seattle and hop a ferry to Vashon Island for this wedding. The couple have a long beautiful history of having their first kiss here. To me, weddings feel much more romantic and celebratory when they’re held in a location that has history with the couple. If you’re struggling to find a location for your wedding, perhaps you’re overthinking it. Try to remember the best moments in your relationship and I bet you’ll find the perfect location that way!
My Sigma 105mm f2.8 OS really shined on this trip! As I look back at my images I’m easily seeing 80% 105mm. It’s such a wonderful feeling when you fine a focal length that speaks to you. I shot this wedding with my favorite combo, the Canon 6d and Sony a7ii. I keep wondering if I should review these cameras and my lenses here on my blog but it’s been done to death online. Perhaps I can find a way to speak to the romance and artistry of these tools. I’ll think on this and perhaps there will be a couple reviews about my beloved manual focus Takumar lenses.
